There wasn’t any.

Welcome to another late entry. About a fortnight or so. Luckily for you, I already have another planned in my brain, hopefully you will be able to read that one this week too. I think I might sub-title these two entries ‘the pulitzer series’, because they are just that fantastic.

So Briony and I took a wee ‘holiday’ last week and travelled south. South to what could easily be a country just in itself; south into hell. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t very warm.

Land of the Scouser a.k.a Liverpool. European Capital of Culture 2008

Chris and I headed off for another little day trip. This time only 30miles away but 1hr on the bus.  Had a list of things to see and places to go from old work buddie Dickie who is from Liverpool. Scousers have a really different accent to the folk in Manchester.

Blackpool. Dungy. Manky. Tired. Eclectic.

Still was nice to get out of Manchester and start exploring.

Day started with what we thought was a normal tram ride into the city, only to find out that a tram had de-railed in the city. This meant us getting off 3 stops early and in search of a map to find the bus station. Made it with plenty of time then of course the bus has been delayed. Only by 15 mins but still. Great start.

I’m trying to make it sound exciting on a micro scale, because obviously, we got on a plane in Singapore and 13.something hours later we were in the United Kingdom. I didn’t really know what to expect, although I knew that New Zealand, being a colony of this nation, would bear a few similarities. I was only partially correct. Read the rest of this entry »
