He’s about six feet tall, very handsome, and made from a titanium alloy (on the outside).

Television’s Little Gems: Freaks and Geeks
I don’t remember watching much of this show when it was actually airing on television a few years ago, quite possibly because it had been scheduled in what is known as the ‘Friday Night Death Slot’ on a local network and I was reaching that teen period in my life where doing stupid things involving booze became more important. It seemed that the rest of the world was in sync with my behaviour too, the show was cancelled in the United States because of poor ratings, even though only twelve of the eighteen produced episodes had been aired.

The Sovereign of Facial Hair Grooming.
So a little while ago a friend of mine who shall remain anonymous came to me with a problem. After reading my unadulterated praise for the King of Shaves Azor and their other products, he took the plunge and bought himself some shaving oil. The problem he was having, I shall quote him on this, (or try):

Five *s I’m loving right now
Because nobody requested it, and because I feel like fellating my ego once again today, here is stuff I like this week. Things for you to think about, and appreciate as I do. You aren’t allowed to disagree.
1. Bruce Springsteen: Well I admit, I don’t know if I ‘get’ his later work, but Born to Run is a masterpiece. Friends, money, crime, girls, and the back streets of America. You should probably go and listen to it now. Relive your youth, or discover an era in which you wish you had been alive. There is a reason why he is called ‘The Boss’. Because he is. Live, I think some of the negative tones of some of the tracks are a little lost in the whole exciting rock’n'roll thing, but its forgivable.

Kings Of Leon, Only By The Night
This album may as well have been released as a double, with the second part called ‘If Not by the Day’. Its probably the most awkward or perhaps irritating album title I have encountered so far this year. The cover imagery suggests with its owl motif that this will be a dark, brooding, if not mysterious album. It’s not. This album just represents the next logical step for Kings of Leon following their 2007 release, Because Of The Times.

The Pretentious Cobra Companion Piece: FINAL.PROPER.HDTV
I just had an interesting thought pop into my head. Given that probably 73% of my readership had no idea what any of the music I was referring to with such love last week, would it be worth it to perhaps share various samples of said music with the audience?

Being really pretentious/Shan-de-la; the cobra’s gyrations.
Since a previous entry contained various levels of sharing, I have been thinking a lot lately about music. Lots of shit to do with music. Like for instance, how my musical tastes evolved from essentially nothing, to me having a few thousand dollars worth of records sitting in a cupboard several years later. Or how I can love a band so much, that I would give them every single drop of my own blood to ensure they keep making the music, while someone else would rather stab both of their eyes out and be raped by rabid dogs than listen to them. [Edit- Picasa web albums are a piece of shit. Visit the album to see the photos that should have stayed fucking integrated into my post. FFS]
There wasn’t any.
Welcome to another late entry. About a fortnight or so. Luckily for you, I already have another planned in my brain, hopefully you will be able to read that one this week too. I think I might sub-title these two entries ‘the pulitzer series’, because they are just that fantastic.
So Briony and I took a wee ‘holiday’ last week and travelled south. South to what could easily be a country just in itself; south into hell. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t very warm.
